Knife Boker-Arbolito Torsion Damast 121551DAM with dagger blade of 21,5 cm and 5 mm thick in steel ladies Twisted Damascus.
The Swiss dagger was a common weapon of the Swiss piqueros in the 15th and 16th centuries, which often had an intermediate position between the dagger and the sword due to the length of its blade.
The dagger, also known as baselard, was generally not issued as an element of equipment, but soldiers had to obtain it in private and then served as a secondary weapon.
Through a complex manufacturing process, with four bands of Damascus steel, made with nickel and Manganese alloy steels, which are used to manufacture tools, the symmetric and harmonious figure that shows the confederate dagger blade illustrated here is achieved.
Each of these bands is a "package" of manually forged and twisted Damascus steel 15 times, which are then coupled with a sophisticated weld and of which each of the leaves of this wonderful dagger is made.
This layer structure not only guarantees the legendary strength of the Damascus leaf, but also creates the unmistakable pattern that distinguishes a Twisted Damascus.
This historic and very complex forging process, dominated by a few Damascus blacksmiths, is carried out perfectly and exclusively for Boker by Andreas Henrichs.
The blade of the dagger, sharpened and pointed on both sides, already had a cross section in the form of diamond in historical models, because this construction proved to be extremely stable and effective.
The Swiss Dagger feature is the design of the pomo and the junction. The unusual curved design dates back to the early 13th century and can also be found in the authentic design of our handmade edition.
The bright dark handle made of certified imported ebony is bordered by the highly polished pome and cross-sectional protection and forms a perfect unit with the thin sheet.
The leather case, specially designed and hand sewn for this model, underlines the exclusivity of this coveted collection piece.
The dagger is provided with an individual series number and is strictly limited, only 500 pieces were produced, this is 389.
The delivery is made with a certificate of collector in a noble wooden box.
