To produce the special tone of Kawai, a wide range of woods are analyzed by quality and character, before being selected as the best materials for each specific purpose.

As the harmonic lid is known, it has a very significant influence on the individual tonal elements of a piano. For that reason, only woods that conform to the most rigorous gravity and propagation speed standards are selected by experienced artisans who carefully choose with the only purpose of achieving, deep and rich low tones as well as velvety and harmonious sweet tones.

In addition to the harmonic lid, for the bridges, the bars, only the best materials for the inner side are taken into account, the combination of the unique properties of different hardwoods to create a hybrid construction in layers.

This produces a wide range of sound, allowing even greater expressive power.

In order to produce a richer and more enveloping sound, the overall stiffness of the body of the GX models has been improved.

The thickness of the upper strip that holds the outer side increases, allowing the pins to support a traction resistance of approximately 20 tons.

To make an infinite range of expressions on the part of the pianist, the GX series uses first-class piano hammers. These hammers are made of wood with excellent acoustic properties, with prepared felts of the best quality long wool hair of New Zealand and Australia.

These felts have the soft and delicate exterior, however, they are very tight and rigid inside. During the reproduction of pianssimo passages, the strings are hit by the delicate outer part of the hammer to produce a soft and sweet tone, while the fortissimo passages use the hardest and tightest interior, which produces a stronger and stronger sound.

On the other hand, all hammers have a pre-fieltro in order to further improve their resistance capacity.

These steps allow experienced piano technicians to perform the subtlest of the adjustments in order to maximize the exquisite sound potential of the instrument. Thus achieving a wide range of tonal of the pianissimo to the fortissimo, and a rich variety of musical expression.

The duplex scale system of the instrument further enhances the harmonics of the medium and high tones of range, adding depth and breadth to the general sound.
